Good blog. I've always been a big Lucic fan, when he's not playing the Sens.

I think as mentioned the bigger ice surface could count against him. Could limit the usefulness of his size. However, putting him infront of a goalie on the PP, could be very useful as he's hard to move, and teams may look more for skilled D than big bruisers.

I don't see how benn doesn't get a look at LW either.

As much as I love Lucic, there is a reason he is never used on the PK unit. Only the most complete players will make the final roster. Bergeron should be strongly considered, but I think Looch will miss the cut. I hope I am wrong.

I'd take Benn over Lucic, and I'm a fan of both.

His hands and speed are better than Lucic. He also has the two way game team canada would be looking for.

Bergeron for sure. His two-way play will be a huge asset.

bergeron better make the team hes too good at everything to not bring him. as for lucic it will definitely be tough because even though hes a beast it might not be the right fit for this team, especially when we can essentially send a roster full of centremen and use some as wingers.

I am a huge Lucic fan, but as mentioned earlier I don’t think his game is suited for the Olympics. If one wanted to go for size, I would go with Ladd. He has a big frame who can skate, and he's great leader.

This
Benn's also huge and physical, but while he might impose himself physicslly abit less than looch, he's certainly more talented.

And regardless of position cause we have so many centers anyway, I'd wager seguins ahead of him on the depth chart as well

Duchene plays LW when he gets moved to the wing, so you can add him to that competition.

Lucic's lack of speed will be an issue against the elite of all nations competing, and not just on the forecheck. Getting the big man to cover his checks when Canada makes a turnover will be a challenge for him to be able to get back to our zone to defend.
Benn, Ladd and E Staal are big players better suited to the larger ice with all having more speed and offensive skill.

As a few others have said. Id also take Benn over Looch. But Id take him over Kunitz and Hall. You also have to figure in the one million Centers that Canada has. You know that some of them are gonna play a Wing as well. Esp if theyre a far superior player.

Benn will always be underrated. The same was that Eriksson was in Dallas. Benn should be a lock over quite a few guys. He can play Center and LW. He's big and has good foot speed. Good in both ends of the ice. My team Canada would have him for sure.

I have LW as
Hall
Couture
Nash
Duchene

Also thought Bergeron would take the 4C spot in the summer but I have lost faith in him
